Liverpool FC have unveiled their new kit for the 2013-14 season, claiming that it is a nod to their glorious past.
The
new home shirts, manufactured by American giant Warrior Sports, are red
for the outfield players and white for the goalkeeper - with the latter
boasting a black pinstripe and shorts.
Warrior claim that the new
effort is a hark back to the Kop's glory days, claiming that "the new
home kit is a modern take on the 1984 version, worn during the Club’s
fourth European Cup win."
Obviously, that kit's distinctive
feature was it's chunky white v-neck collar and white pinstripes - both
of which are conspicuous by their absence on the new shirt.
There
is a feint darker-red stripe and some white trimming, but otherwise the
yellow sponsor, manufacturer's logo and retro yellow badge make it look
strikingly similar to this season's effort.
